RiboGreen fluorescent dye, as one of the RNA staining agents, is an asymmetric cyanine dye that binds to RNA in the sample, including rRNA and mRNA, to generate fluorescent signals. RiboGreen technology can detect changes of up to 1 nanogram of RNA. A slight increase in RNA causes a significant increase in fluorescence signal intensity (Intensity) or relative fluorescence unit (RFU). Its spontaneous fluorescence is negligible, the repeatability standard deviation is low, and it is not affected by the chemical composition of the sample.
